International Education

DRS International School is a Day and Residential school affiliated to CBSE and an authorised IB World School located in the peaceful and unpolluted surroundings of suburban Secunderabad. It offers students the ideal environment to explore their creative and learning needs.

DRSIS has classes from Nursery to Grade XII. Students develop conceptual understanding with the content contextualized in real world situations. Learning is hands-on, aiming to create life long learners. A strong team of facilitators mentor students in all aspects of life and education, constantly innovating and providing the most contemporary inputs.

Academic Environment & Education

The campus is cheerful and the classroom size optimum, designed for not more than 25 students. Furniture and classroom ambience is a result of careful planning. Cheerful colors, balanced lighting and careful positioning of work spaces contribute to the overall feeling of welcome. All classrooms are air-conditioned for comfort to maximize output of both students and faculty. Education is integrated and activity based. Assessment is a continuous process at DRSIS and students are descriptively profiled on their cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills. Students are not administered formal examinations up to fifth grade and are actively encouraged to compete with themselves, maximizing their own potential in all domains.

Differentiated instructions are given for diverse learners at school during school hours. Classrooms are linked via a CCTV to a central monitoring facility where a child psychologist assesses every child vis-a-vis his or her strengths, talents and areas of improvement.

Co-curricular Activities & Facilities

Students are taken on visits to places of historic, environmental and social significance. A wide exposure is given to films, sporting activities, inter-school competitions, eminent artistes and public personalities. The school has excellent facilities for sports, indoor and outdoor games. Tennis, Cricket, Swimming, Basketball, Roller Skating, Roller – hockey, Karate, Table Tennis, Yoga, Chess, Archery & Gym with full equipment and exposure to adventure sports.

Residential Facility

The residential facility is available for students of Grade IV and above. The hostels are modern and incorporate facilities that-make for a home away from home.

ADMISSIONS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-25

GENERAL INFORMATION

 1. Admissions offered in the Academic Year

For this academic year, DRS international School offers  admissions to International Kindergarten I, II, III and Grades I to XII.


2. Admission Process

The admission process comprises the following stages:

  • Obtaining the brochure and application for admission from DRS International School.
  • Submitting the duly completed application form with supporting documents to DRS International School and registering for admission.
  • Appearing for the Interaction with Principal/Skill Test.
  • Communication of admission decision to parents.
  • Submission of the documents and payment of the fees.
  • Confirmation of admission after receiving all documents.
 

3. Application for Admission

The brochure and Application Form for admission can be obtained on payment of Rs.1000/- Cash / Demand Draft favoring ‘DRS International School’ payable at Hyderabad. Credit / Debit Card / Wire Transfer / G-Pay / Phone-Pay / Paytm.

  • Six passport size photographs of the child.
  • Parent’s one each photograph.
  • Certified copy of School Report of the previous academic year if applicable).
  • One certified copy of Child’s Birth Certificate/Passport copy.
  • Aadhar card copies of both Parents & Child.
  • One certified copy each of details including dates and grades of any Public/Board Examinations already taken (if applicable).

 

4. Age Criteria

IB Curriculum (PYP – MYP – DP)

The PYP marks the start of a lifetime journey. It develops caring and culturally aware children aged 3 – 12
(Age range for Classes: IK 1 to PYP 5 is 3 – 12)

Building a solid academic foundation, the MYP develops student’s confidence in managing their own learing and making connections between their leaning in classroom and in the real world.
(Age range for Classes MYP 1 – 5 is 11 – 16)

A future ready DP that builds students’ inquiring mindset, fosters their desire to learn and prepares them to excel at their careers and lead meaningful lives.
(Age range for Classes DP 1 – 12 is 16 – 19)

CBSE Curriculum (VI – XII)

Aligned with NEP 2020 policy CBSE envisages that the extant 10+2 structure in school education will be modified with a new pedogogical and curricular restructuring of 5+3+3+4 covering ages 3 – 18.

Middle school education – (Age range for classes 6 – 8 is 11 – 14)

Secondary school education – (Age range for classes 9 – 12 is 14 – 18)

The age mentioned may be relaxed at the discretion of the School Admission Committee based on the past academic achievement and performance in our testing procedures, provided the student has graduated from a recognised school.

 

5. Interaction and Skill Test

DRS International School will inform the parents of the date, time and venue of the Interaction and Test. Every effort will be made to ensure that the Interaction is free from stress and anxiety possible. The testing procedures will be adapted to suit the age of the child and we welcome the opportunity to meet parents. The Skill test comprising of English & Mathematics for Grades I to V, English, Mathematics & Science for Grades VI and above.


6. Admission Decision

Decision regarding admission will be conveyed to the parents after the written test and or Interaction. The decision of the School Admission Committee will be final and no correspondence or discussion on the matter will be entertained. The names of the selected candidates will be displayed in our office also.


7. Acceptance of Admission

Admission will be confirmed on receipt of the following within the stipulated date:

A) Fee
B) Certified copy of Caste Certificate if student belongs to SC/ST/BC
C) 6 passport size photographs of the student, (if not submitted before.)
D) Parents one each photographs (if not submitted before)
E) Aadhar card copies of both Parents & Child.
F) Copy of date of birth certificate/Passport copy. (if not submitted before)
G) Transfer Certificate/Record sheet from the school last attended in original.
H) X Grade marks memo and pass certificate in original if applying for XI and IBDP.
I) Original Transfer Certificate attested by Education Dept. for students coming from other states.
J) Residential Permit copy. (In case of Foreigners.)

If for any reason the Transfer Certificate cannot be produced at the time of admission, the admission will be provisional and it must be produced on or before the commencement of the academic session.

8. Working days timings

DRS International School functions from Monday to Friday (for students) with the following timings:

  • IK I, IK II, IK III : 8:15 a.m to 12:15 p.m
  • Grades I & above: 8:15 a.m to 03:15 p.m
  • Grades VI – XII : 8:15 a.m to 12:00 Noon on Saturdays (except 2nd Saturday)

Students will be expected to stay back for longer hours on certain days and attend school on some Saturdays for sports and other extracurricular activities/extra academic help.

9. School Uniform and School Transport

DRS International School prescribes uniform for all its students. Students are expected to take pride in their personal appearance and to abide by the rules governing the school uniform. Details of uniform will be intimated after the admission is finalized.

10. Payment of Fees:

  1. The fee can be paid in Demand Draft drawn in favour of DRS International School, payable at Hyderabad. Credit/Debit Card/Wire Transfer/G-Pay/Phone-Pay/Paytm.
  2. The refundable Cash Deposit is against damage to, or loss of library books, laboratory equipment, computer facilities and other equipment or assets of the school. It -will be refunded without any interest, after adjustment of dues, if any, on completion of the child’s studies at DRS International School.
  3. The fee schedule given in the prospectus is subject to change from time to time at the discretion of the School Management.
  4. Fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances.
  5. The mere submission of an application for admission does not guarantee the admission.
  6. Last date for payments of fees: I term – 20th March, II team – 30th July, III term – 30th Nov of that academic year.
  7. If there is a withdrawal of a student from the school in the middle of the term, he/she has to pay the entire Tuition fee for year and the Transfer Certificate will be issued after two weeks of the completion of the formalities required for the same.
  8. Once the student is admitted into hostel, he/she has to continue till the end of that academic year. In case, he/she wants to move from the hostel to become day scholar he/she has to pay the hostel fee for that academic year.
  9. I also understand that my child’s admission will be confirmed subject to the result in the board exam in case of admission into Grade XI.

11. For Residential Students:

Students who are admitted into the hostel are required to submit the following documents in addition to the documents mentioned above.

  • Fitness Certificate
  • Medical Report & prescriptions, if any.
  • Undertakings and agreement signed by parents
  • Blood Group Report
